Be Strong- Sailor Moon by ~xTheRealSugarBabyx:iconxTheRealSugarBabyx:

Are you swimming upstream in oceans of blue?
Do you feel like your sinking?
Are you sick of the rain after all you've been through?
Well I know what you're thinking
When you can't take it
You can make it
Sometime soon I know you'll see

“Tuxedo mask...”Forgetting about how cold she was, Usagi watched silently as the figure appeared a few yards ahead of her. The cape was torn and battered, but it was unmistakably him. A second passed before it sank it, but when it did she started running. “Tuxedo Mask!”

“Wait!” Ami said, holding her arm out to stop Usagi. “It could be a trap!”

“This would usually be a trap,” Mako said, sighing.

“Demo...” everyone turned to look at Usagi.

Rei growled. “You get targeted first because you’re so simpleminded!”

“But...” Usagi frowned.

“I’ll check into it right now,” Ami said, a serious expression on her face as she reached up to activate the thin plastic material that appeared before her eyes.

“Help me, Sailor Moon.” His voice was weak, and he didn’t look up. Usagi gasped. “Sailor Moon...”

Though she tried hard to fight the urge to do so, Usagi cried out, “I just can’t leave him like that!” Once again she started running. Rei, Minako, and Mako chased after her, tackling Usagi to the ground.

“Sailor Moon!”

“But he’s suffering! How can you ignore him like that?!”

Tuxedo Mask grinned, his eyes flashing red. Because of their attempt to hold down a struggling Usagi, no one noticed.

Seeing the numbers and words appear on the visor before her eyes, Ami gasped.

“Let me go!” Usagi screamed.

“Everyone, watch out! He’s a monster!” Ami warned.

Mako, Minako, and Rei turned to look at her. “What?”

But even as they asked the question, a vine the width of a branch drove through the imposter Tuxedo Mask’s chest and started towards them.

Minako and Rei managed to avoid the blow, but Mako had to pick Usagi up to get her out of the way in time.

The four of them landed on their bottoms in the cold snow, and Rei gritted her teeth. “I told you so!” she yelled at Usagi.

“Gomenasai!” Usagi cried.

The decoy Tuxedo Mask vanished. In the air where he had previously been floating, a fairy-like monster with blue skin and a set of wings stared down at them, laughing wickedly.

“Hey, monster! How dare you trick me?” A fuming Usagi jumped to her feet, hands curled into fists. “I was a fool for being so gullible, but you’re bigger fools for crushing a girl’s innocent feelings! Because, because-“ she pointed at the fairy. “You’ve seriously made me mad! So, now-“

“You talk too much,” Rei told her.

Usagi felt the blood rush to her cheeks. “Anyway! In the name of the moon, I will punish you!”

The monster laughed again as four more appeared, two on either side of her.

The Sailor Scouts stiffened. “Oh! Five?!” Usagi said to herself.

“You guys don’t stand a chance against us in D-Point!” the first monster said, as the five of them vanished. Tuxedo Mask appeared again.

“Sailor Moon, I love you.”

Rei smirked. “What kind of ninny would fall for the same trick twice?!”

Apparently, a ninny like Usagi. As Rei growled, the leader of the Sailor Scouts started running again. “Don’t fall for it as I’m saying that!” Rei screamed after her.

Mako began chasing after Usagi once again.

And once again, Mako, Minako, and Rei had to tackle Usagi to the ground.

“But what if he’s the real thing this time?!” Usagi whined.

Again, the root appeared and shot out towards them, and the four quickly began to run in the direction they had come from.

“But!”

“See?!”

“But!”

'Cause when your in you're darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong

While the others continued to run, Mako stopped and turned around. “Don’t underestimate us!” she screamed. As she started to attack, Tuxedo Mask disappeared to be replaced by none other than... “Oh! Motoki!” she gasped.

Motoki looked up, his eyes red. Mako had no time to react before more vines rose up from the ground, and his chest, wrapping around her and holding her suspended in the air.

The other Sailor Scouts gasped as, from the ground, the five monsters appeared from the ground, holding on to the vines that were holding Mako prisoner.

“Moon... Tiara...”

“Fire...”

The monsters started ascending towards Mako, and Usagi gasped, forgetting her attack.

“We can’t!” Rei yelled. “Jupiter will get caught in our attack!?”

“Don’t worry about me!” Mako cried. “Hurry, go to where Queen Beryl is!” She screamed as electricity coursed through the vines, shocking her. A few more seconds of agonizing pain, and then, “You’ve got some nerve using electric shock against me!”

“Nani?” one of the monsters asked.

“Prepare yourselves! Supreme Thunder!”

The lighting appeared from her eye, connected to the golden rod that shot up from her tiara.

“You impertinent little...”

“DIE!”

Jupiter continued with the fight, a ball of electricity surrounding herself and the monsters. A loud crackle of thunder, and then the monsters were retreating as the Sailor Scouts shielded their eyes.

“Why you!”

The ball expanded, sending snow and ice flying throughout the air, a backwards avalanche. Icy spikes shot forth from the ground all around Jupiter.

As the attack ended, the Sailor Scouts all looked up and gasped.

“Jupiter!” Usagi screamed. Mako was lying amidst the tree of spikes, barely conscious.

Mako struggled to open her eyes and look at them. “Everyone...”

“We’re coming to help you!” Usagi screamed as the group started climbing up the spikes.

“I’m done...” Jupiter said weakly. “Instead, everyone hurry to where Queen Beryl is.”

Usagi gasped. “No! We can’t! We have to all go together!” she screamed. Tears began to form in her eyes as she reached up. “Mako, remember what you told me?! That you’d have a full-blown romance when you got back! That’s what you told me.” She added softly. “You shouldn’t lie! The King of Hell will yank your tongue out.”

Jupiter smiled weakly. “There’s no time for crying, Princess.” Her eyes closed and she forced them open again. “Come on, cheer up...” Her eyes closed again. She didn’t open them. She said no more.

Usagi’s eyes grew wide. “Mako-chan! You can’t! You can’t die!” Her voice echoed through the barren, ice-covered land around her as she fell to the ground sobbing.

Where taking each step one day at a time
You can't loose your spirit
Let live and let live forget and forgive
It's all how you see it
And just remember keep it together
Don't you know you're never alone

“Come on,” Minako said sadly. “Let’s go.”

“No!” Usagi said, without looking up.

Minako clenched her fists. “Sailor Moon!”

“If this is what we have to go through,” Usagi said. “We should just give them the Silver Crystal.”

Minako gasped.

“What are you saying?!” Rei demanded.

Usagi stood to look at her. “That’s right. That’s what we should’ve done from the start!” She ran towards Ami and Rei, attempting to past them as she cried out. “Listen, Queen Beryl! You can have the Silver Crystal!”

“Matte, Sailor Moon!” Rei screamed, as she and Ami struggled to hold Usagi back. “Idiot!”

“Let me go!” Usagi turned to Ami. “Because I have this, that’s why Mako... I just want to get this over with and go home...”

Ami reached up and smacked her before she could say anymore. Usagi drew away, and Ami frowned.

“Gomenasai, but please understand. Don’t waste Jupiter’s death.” She gasped as the small computer in her hand started beeping. “They’re coming!”

Everyone straightened up, preparing for battle. “You three go on ahead,” Ami told them. “I’ll hold them here.”

“But,” Rei started.

Ami cut her off. “Past this point, we’ll need your powers, since you have stronger attacks! So, go!” she turned to Usagi.

“Ami, you’re not going to...”

Ami smiled at her reassuringly. “I won’t die.”

“That’s a promise,” Usagi said.

“Yes,” Ami replied.

As they began to walk away, Ami smiled after her three remaining friends. The three of them starting to walk away, Mina forcing Usagi to turn around and walk, the three growing further and further away. And then they were gone.

Ami squinted her eyes dangerously. “Now, come and get me!” she yelled. But she gasped as another figure appeared before her, held up and wrapped in chains as Motoki and Tuxedo Mask had been.

“Urawa-kun!” then she smiled. “So, I get to see this kind of illusion too.” She squeezed her earring and the plastic screen appeared again. Yes, it was definitely a monster. An illusion. Suddenly, the image on the screen changed, the lines stretching and expanding. She quickly made the screen go away.

Urawa’s illusion was gone. The ground began to rumble, and something that looked like smoke sprung up from a huge hole in the ground. “Bubble... Spray!” The substance, something solid, started towards her, but grew still as the bubbles made contact.

She looked up, finding three fairies clasping hands and spinning around in circles, forming a huge ball of the mud-like substance that flew down towards her. She ran, barely managed to avoid the attack as it hit the ground. She squeezed her earring again. “It’s an illusion, but it had real heat!”

The three of the fairies were standing behind the mud ball, and the screen showed a circle forming around the stone on one of their headbands. “Okay, the origin of this illusion is the stone on her forehead!

As the attack started towards her, she began pressing buttons on her small computer. She looked up and scowled. “I’ll have to get rid of the origin of the illusion.” She bit her lip. The screen disappeared.

“Bubble... Spray!”

The attack hit her. She froze, and more vines shot forward, encircling her. She gasped and screamed as energy flowed through the vines.

“Hurry up and turn into a roast pig!” one of the monsters said, appearing beside her.

“How rude,” Ami said.

“Then how about a baked potato?” another monster. “Die!”

Ami screamed as the monsters’ attack continued. When it ended, she fell forward limply, still being held up by the vines. Gathering up the last of her strength, she forced herself to bring the computer before her eyes. “Maybe this will be the last time I use this.”

A monster appeared before her. She screamed and slammed the computer against the stone on its forehead, and then she was falling backwards, the vines disappearing.

“I can’t use my illusions anymore!” the monster cried, jumping away with the others. Ami fell backwards onto the ground.

From far away, a weird sensation shot through Usagi, and she gasped.

Somewhere behind her, Ami was lying lifeless in the snow.

And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray

And even though she was far away and couldn’t see it, Usagi knew what had happened. She sank to her knees. “Ami’s... Ami’s...” she turned to face Rei and Mina. “Ami’s dead!” she pounded her fists into the snow.

Minako looked away sadly, but Rei glared. “Don’t cry like a baby every single time!” she snapped.

Usagi turned to glare at her.

“Remember,” Rei continued. “More enemies will be coming at us!” As she said it though, the tears came to her eyes.

“But... But I never expected something like this...” Usagi said.

Minako gasped. The ground beneath Usagi began to glow, and Mina started running. “Watch out!” she screamed, barely managing to push Sailor Moon out of the way in time. The roots shot up from the ground, wrapping around Mina’s waist and raising her up into the air.

“Minako-chan!!” Usagi screamed.

Minako, too, was screaming, suspended high above the ground, clawing at the vines.

“Stop it!” Sailor Moon screamed. “You can have the Silver Crystal, so let Minako go!”

Minako turned to stare down at Usagi. “If you do that, I’ll never forgive you!” Before she could say anymore, the vines started pulling her down, and she screamed, leaving Usagi and Rei to watch as she disappeared into the deep hole. They ran over to it and peered down, and a voice rose up.

“Fool! Begging for her life won’t do you any good! We’ll take the Silver Crystal after we kill all of you! First, we’ll take care of this one!”

A flash of light. Minako screamed, and Rei hurried to grab Usagi and drag her away as the ground began to collapse all around them.

“Minako-chaaan!”

Meanwhile, Minako gritted her teeth, resisting the vines’ pull and touching the tiara on her forehead. She reached out and touched the monster’s forehead. “Cresent... Beam!”

The monster screamed as the attack took its affect. The other monsters jumped out of the hole, leaving Minako to rise above ground in a tree of spikes, just like Jupiter. Her head was tilted back, the vines still wrapped around her body limply as she lay amidst the spikes.

No you're not defeated
And soon you'll be smiling once again
Then you won't have to feel it
Let it go with the wind
Time passes us by
And know that you're aloud to cry

“Minako-chan!” Usagi screamed, looking over her shoulder as Rei continued to drag her away. The wall of spikes appeared, and the two of them reached the top of a snow-covered hill. Holding onto Usagi’s wrist, Rei stopped.

Usagi felt her knees growing weak as she began to sob wildly.

“Sailor Moon.”

“What?”

“We always fought, but it was fun.”

Usagi gasped. “What are you saying?!”

Without looking at her, Rei smiled. “I have to say it, just in case something happens.”
“We said we weren’t going to talk about ‘what ifs’!” Usagi screamed at her. Both of them gasped as the final two monsters drifted to the ground appeared before them.

Rei started forward, but Usagi chased after her. “Oh, wait! I understand! I’ll do the rest by myself! I’ll beat them all and beat Queen Beryl, and I’ll come home, so, Rei, go back home ahead of me! I don’t want you to die!”

“You still have the final big battle ahead of you,” Rei said, and then smiled halfheartedly as she reached up to remove Usagi’s hand from her shoulder. “So you have to conserve your energy.”

Usagi looked up at her sadly.

“Oh, come on!” Rei grinned. “No one says I have to die!” She started walking again. “Okay, Rei’s gonna go take care of them real quick!” She ran off, leaving Usagi to stare at her retreating back.

A few yards away, Rei stopped running. “Fire...”

The monsters flew at her, passing her and crashing through the ground. Looking down at the two holes, Rei gasped. “They’re fast!” She started to look around again, and ended up screaming a wall of snow-covered rubble came up and wrapped around her, forming a mouth that swallowed her whole.

Usagi stared at the mound, an unreadable expression on her face. “Rei-chan?”

No reply. She started walking toward the mound, stopping when she heard something fly by behind her. She turned to look up at the monster in the sky.

“You’re mine!” the thing screamed, holding her arms out. Roots shot from her arms, flying towards Usagi at a rapid speed. But before the attack managed to hit Sailor Moon, the monster screamed and was engulfed in a sphere of flames and smoke.

“Rei-chan!” Usagi screamed, turning to the mound. From somewhere inside it, a voice screamed out.

“How dare you!”

The walls of the mound began to glow, and Rei’s scream echoed through the walls as the mound collapsed.

The last monster appeared, followed by Rei, who was dragged up by the vines. “Now, that finally leaves just the princess.”

“Rei-chan!”

Rei was placed atop the rubble, the vines retracting. “Prepare to die,” the monster said, ascending. But she didn’t get very far. Rei grabbed on to the vines that had taken the place of the monster’s arm.

“I’m not done yet,” she said, turning her head to look up at the monster, who gasped. “Fire... Soul!” The flames through up and engulfed the monster, and after another series of explosions, Usagi watched as the smoke cleared away.

Rei was lying a midst a sea of spikes, eyes closed. “Just like you said, I should have kissed Yuichiro...” she opened her tear-filled eyes. “I really wish I had.” Her eyes closed and the smile faded away.

And all of the light just fades away

“Mako-chan... Ami-chan... Minako-chan... Rei-chan...”

She was sitting in the snow, arms wrapped around her knees, tears flowing down her cheeks. “I know, this is a dream. It’s just a dream. When I wake up, everybody will say, “Good Morning!”, just like always. And Rei will call me ‘Clumsy Usagi’...” Usagi buried her face in her knees.

A second passed before she felt something on her shoulder. She looked up to find Mako, staring at her with a smile on her face. “Come on,” Mako said. “Cheer up.”

“Usagi, be strong!” Ami said, smiling.

“Don’t give up hope,” Minako said.

“Usagi, stand up.”

“Okay,” Usagi replied, wiping the tears away with the back of her hand.

She turned around and gasped, finding Rei frowning at her. But the frown was immediately replaced by a warm smile. “We’ll always be together!” Rei said.

Usagi smiled. “Everyone...”

The four of them stared at her. “Now, run,” Rei told her.

Usagi nodded. “Okay!”

And she ran. She ran and ran, confidence returning to her. That’s right! I’m not alone! Never alone!
